Road Trip Essentials (Mom Edition)
The Things That Save Me on Every Road Trip
One quick thing before we start. Next week I'm publishing a piece I'm still a little surprised by, the full system behind how my business has crossed six figures in eight months. A post like this one is a working piece of that entire system. I'll link it the second it's live. 🤍
I love a road trip.
I love the slow part of it. The windows down, the long stretch of road, exploring somewhere new, the way a car somehow becomes the place where everyone talks.
Before we had kids, our honeymoon was a road trip down Highway 1, from Northern California all the way back to Santa Barbara, where we lived at the time.
So the love runs deep.

(Everything on my list is something we own ourselves, or something my closest friends and family swear by. If it made the list, it earned its spot. You can see the whole road trip list here.)
Now we bring the kids along, and it’s a different kind of fun. Messier. Louder. But still some of my favorite time together.
We have a few road trips planned this summer, which means I’ve been pulling together the things that make the car easier for all of us.
Traveling with kids is never smooth sailing. It’s snacks. A lot of snacks. Spills. “Are we there yet?” And someone dropping something the second you finally get comfortable. While there’s no way to make it perfect (and that is the beauty of it really), there is a way to make it easier.
Over time, I’ve realized it’s not about packing more. It’s about packing smarter. Moms are so good at packing for their kids, even if it’s just a little trip to the park. We know that having the things within reach that solve problems before they turn into meltdowns is essential to an easier day for everyone. Keeping everyone comfortable. Keeping yourself organized.
This is the kind of setup that helps me while on the road with my little kids:
A few small organization pieces that keep everything in its place.
Snacks, snacks, snacks! Snacks that are easy to grab…some healthy, some a little less healthy, but snacks are essential to survival in the car with little kids.
Little activities that buy you more quiet time.
And a few things just for you, because mom, you deserve to be comfortable too.
It’s all about the things that make the car feel a little calmer, the drive feel a little shorter, and the whole experience feel more manageable. Because that’s really the goal. Not perfect trips. Just easier ones.
I have a number of lists for travel in my Amazon storefront, alongside this road trip essentials list.
And it’s Prime Day this week (June 23 through 26), so a lot of it is marked down right now, which feels like the right excuse to finally grab the things that make travel with kids easier.
You can shop the road trip picks and my full storefront here.
And thanks so much for supporting this Mom over here. 🙋🏼♀️ It means more than you know. Building something of my own again and creating work I genuinely love has been such a gift these last few months.
P.S. This post is a small, live example of something bigger.
Next week I’m publishing a piece I’m still surprised by, how this writing business has earned me six figures in its first eight months. All four income streams, in the exact order I’d build them again from zero.
A post like this one is one of those doors in action.
The full breakdown goes out to paid subscribers next week. If you’ve been building in the margins and waiting for someone to show you the actual structure, this is the one to stay for. 🤍

Hi 😊
I’d love to connect and support one another as we grow. I recently published an article about my experience traveling from Athens to Sofia on a budget, sharing tips and insights from the journey.
If you have a moment, I’d be grateful if you could give it a read and subscribe if you enjoy the content. It’s completely free, and I’m always happy to support fellow creators as well.
Looking forward to connecting with you and growing together! 🌍✨
I always end up overpacking clothes and underpacking snacks. 😂 Every single road trip. I'm definitely stealing a few ideas from this list before our next drive. And I love your Amazon storefront, so many cute lists!
